- Ozenfant, Amadée
- (1886-1966)painterBorn in Saint-Quentin, Amadée Ozenfant, attracted to architecture and aesthetic theories, founded, with Guillaume apollonaire, a revue, L'Élan, and with le corbusier, in 1928, published the manifesto of "purism." The same year, Ozenfant wrote a work dealing with synthesis entitled L'Art. He developed a basic style in which the contours of familiar objects are schematized and forms are put in geometric patterns, while the colors are reduced to some unified areas.
